Bharti Airtel on Wednesday launched a new ‘Internet TV’ set top box at a price of Rs 4,999 with one month of subscription of all channels (SD and HD) free.
Airtel Digital TV launches its very first Internet TV today at a press conference. This hybrid STB is powered by Android TV, and is suppose to come packed with a bouquet of over 500 plus satellite TV channels.
The Airtel internet television comes preloaded with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Music, Google Play Games, Airtel Movies and more. The listing doesn’t just end here, as the TV also enables the users to access Google Play Store. With this, the users will be able to download their favourite apps, content and games on to their Internet TV. Further, Airtel ‘Internet TV’ comes with inbuilt-Wi-Fi receiver, Bluetooth based remote control and is integrated with Google voice search feature. Customers can discover their favourite content by simply telling the remote and choose from a variety of content sources.
Airtel Internet TV is priced at Rs. 4,999 and comes with 3 month Digital TV subscription. Further, Airtel also comes up with a limited period offer, wherein the customers can get the Airtel Internet TV with one year subscription at Rs 7,999. Sunil Taldar, CEO and Director of DTH, Bharti Airtel citing the roadmap says, “We will continue to add exciting content platforms to Airtel ‘Internet TV’ and invite customers to experience this innovative offering.” The television will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting April 12. Further, the device will also be available via Airtel Digital TV touch points – retail stores and the official website soon after online launch.
